HAANJA100 2008 RULES AND REGULATIONS
The purpose of the event is to popularize the nature of Haanjamaa and to popularize the whole Võrumaa as an ideal place to spend ones time on a bike. The event is also a perfect occasion to test ones physical and mental abilities on an extra long distance competition.
2. TIME AND PLACE
Saturday, 4th of October, 2008. The start is at 9:00 on the field in front of the Hotel Kubija in Võru. The finish is at the same place and it will be closed at 19:00.
3.1. Race for mad ones: 100 + kilometers. There are 4 feeding stations on the track.
3.2. Race for insane ones: 150+ kilometers. There are 6 feeding stations on the track. 100+ km track plus and additional loop of 50 km. Transfer to the extra loop will take place at the 75 km mark of the track. The entrance to the extra loop will be closed at 13:30. Competitors who will not make the deadline will be directed forward to the 100+ km track and they will be accounted as contestants in 100+km race in the final results.
NB! Organizer will set deadlines for the 3 last feeding stations on both races. Competitors who will not make the deadline in these stations will be automatically accounted as abandoned and and they will be marked as DNF in the final results.
NB! The 100+ km track has approx. 1700 meters of vertical climbing. The route consists mainly (about 50%) of single-tracks (in Haanja they are called "silver-tracks" because of route-master called Silver), some of them in the forest, some on the fields. About 25% of route is wider path.
The rest of the route goes by smaller and bigger roads, covered with gravel and asphalt. The 150+ km track has approx 2100 meters of vertical climbing. The additional 50 km loop consists mainly of single tracks and forest roads.
NB! In feeding stations will be offered sports drink (you can fill your bottles or camel-backs), fresh water, salt, bread, salted cucumber (pickles), banana, raisins, buns and cookies. You can also get technical support. The spare-parts have to be paid in the finish. If possible also a bike wash will be organized if weather conditions demand such help.
4. COMPETITION CLASSES
4.1. Race for mad ones: Men, Woman and Teams (3 members). Deadline for the registration of teams is at 8:30 on the race morning.
4.2. Race for insane ones: Insane ones.

Both distances (100+ km and 150+ km) are open for anyone who is born on 4th of October 1990 or earlier and are fit enough to finish the race.
NB! The organizers have the right to limit the number of participants according to the actual weather conditions and according to agreed terms with the officials of the nature protection areas and land owners.

NB! Participants who like to receive an invoice should inform the organizer.
Participants who have registered via www.sportinfo.ee system will not receive an invoice.

Awarding ceremony of 100+km will take place at 16:00, ceremony of 150+km at 19:00. ´Awarded will be:
a. 100+ km: six best in Men, three best in Woman and three best in Team classifications.
b. 150+km: three best in overall classification.
All finished participants will receive a diploma with their time and place.
9. SPECIAL RULES
a. everyone will participate in the race at their own responsibility,
b. the type of the bicycle is not regulated,
c. helmet is obligatory,
d. roads used in the race are open to the traffic; riders must follow common traffic rules, signs and traffic officers’ instructions,
e. carry with you some basic tools, some nutrition and a mobile phone,
f. seeing someone in need of help, be sure to call 112 (overall distress number) for first- aid or +372 511 4179 (the organizer),
g. in case of abandoning the race you can order transport to the finish by phone + 372 511 4179.
NB! KEEP THE NATURE CLEAN!
Please don't throw trash (used packages, bottles) into the nature. You can put them into the trash-can in every Service Point.
